I must go down to D'ni again...

  • Mood: Wistful

I figured doing the first line of "sea fever" but with a D'ni flavor would be appropriate.

Today I hear the calling... D'ni is again awakened and I am again invited to join in the mysterious journey which calls me to that "deep city..." URU.

At this time I make my preparations so that when I am done, I might enter that city when I come back from my final trip to the surface.

Shorah!

I must go down to D'ni again

To the deep city and cavernous sky

And all I ask is a link book and a light to steer me by...

The ending is not yet written... and yet I finished again ;)

  • Mood: tired (as usual)
  • Music: the rattling in my head

After my dream of Yeesha and the realization that I must journey thru the land of D'ni alone,  I have managed to figure out again the mysteries of Kadish and the other ages I have encountered.

It was hard to pass thru the slave chambers of Teledahn alone w/o the hand of a friend to hold. I also discovered an error in my notes for Kadish that was soon corrected when I was able to reread the correspondences of a friend. As I discovered the letter that led to my finishing my journey yet again thru Kadish, I discovered that though I am alone in my discovery of D'ni and it's many ages... I have the ability to communicate with friends in other ways. So my journey will not truly be alone.

My friends tell me that changes will appear soon in the ages aswell as in the little bit of D'ni we still have access to. I have heard the rumors aswell and await the discovery of D'ni and it's many secrets again. I have nothing but memories of a Live D'ni to sustain me now and with these changes atleast a dead city will again live for a little while with me to explore it... as it shall for my many companions on their own travels.

The deep city will breath again... it may be a rasping breath of one who is still in the midst of waking but it shall be alive again... even if I am the only person who will be there to awaken it.

~L~ Awaiting the journey once again...

Strange doings in the land of D'ni

  • Mood:
  • Music: American Pie
It happened suddenly...

I linked to my Relto as normal after having visited with my friends online. We had journeyed between ages together... solving puzzles... having fun... playing hide and seek. Our lives were full of fun and discovery.

It made me think of the first explorers of D'ni and how they must of felt having only their voices echoing off these silent walls. With these thoughts I fell asleep, comfortable in my makeshift bed and thinking of my friends in their own Reltos.

I woke up in the middle of the night to the feeling of linking. As quickly as I had awakened... I fellt back to sleep and dreamed... a dream of Yeesha coming to me in the night. She spoke softly and her words were hard to hear.

"You must journey forth alone.
Your friends cannot help you anymore..."

I tossed and turned in my sleep
and heard her speak again:

"Your friends will be with you in spirit...
D'ni can't sustain you all at this time so alas
you must all take the journey to yourselves
until the day that URU can again sustain the masses..."

Her voice slipped away into the darkness and
her face back into the mists of my dreams
like the fading of the sun into a foggy morning.

I awoke suddenly, sitting up to find that things were as I had left them. I saw all my surroundings as they
had been when I had first linked here... but something something was wrong. I just couldn't place my finger on it.

I stood up, tossing my quilt aside and rubbing the sleep from my eyes.
It was then that something caught my eye. I walked over to the shelf which housed all the books I had so far explored and visited.

All my age books were there...
The cleft
The Eder books... red and green
The purple cover of Kadish stared back
The worn cover of Teledahn caught my eyes
Even the greyish torn cover of Gahreesehn winked back
but something was missing...

That's when I realized... My nexus and hood age books were missing. I blinked staring again and even touching the place where they had sat upon my Relto shelf. No books. They were gone.

I couldn't comprehend what this meant and looked around to see if I had moved them. I ran outside into the pouring rain of the relto age and only found myself soaking wet and feeling cold.

Where were my books???

I suddenly remembered the dream...
Yeesha's voice whispering softly...
Dreamily...
Sadly...

"...D'ni can't sustain you all at this time so alas
you must all take the journey to yourselves
until the day that URU can again sustain the masses..."

Tears came to my eyes and I fell to my knees upon the damp ground and cried.

Alas the fun times end... but the ending has not yet been written

  • Mood: Heartbroken
  • Music: The soundtrack I carry in my head
I heard some heartwrenching news today...
URU will be no more.

Apparently there were not the subscribers needed to fund the game and so the Online version is being scrapped. *cries* I read that news with tears welling up in my eyes. For once I had found something I really liked to play even with the bugs and such I loved it... but alas... it will be no more.

So my journeys will be ending.
I will still post here for the offline copy when things happen that are interesting...
but this blog will go to the wayside for a while between the Live version going offline and me getting back to Uru Prime.

Aegura opened up even more!

Shorah friends,

Yep, you heard me right.
A new section of the city has opened up for us curious visitors.
Last night despite the lag I stayed up till 6 am to try and run around and see what was up.

VERY VERY COOL!
I had fun running around (when the lag didn't slow me down or completely stop me) a new area which I have no idea what it is. It might be a library cause I know I saw a pic once that said a similar building was that. This looks remarkably like that pic.

I was playing on Achenar shard and finally got quite a few of the bugs I was experiencing to go away.
I'm not certain, but I think the issues with Teledahn might have been fixed. Up till last night I was unable to keep the power running. Besides the fact that when you see the sun you have to count about 30 seconds extra before the sound of powering up actually happens, I think that issue is fixed. At first I had the power up then I did something like run the elevator and it went dead. Then I powered it up once more and this time when I did something the power remained on. I was able to use the elevator to move around freely and many other things w/o the fear of power failing.

I might just finish the ages there. What I hope is that Kadish pillar puzzle issue gets fixed.
I need to send that in as a bug. I know the puzzle code but the code will not work for me anymore.
And someone had done it for me on Katran and fixed it but I have no idea what they did. I should have asked. LOL

I'll take more pics later... need to go get ready for work now.
Yes... the real world intrudes on fantasy

Trohl's in Dni

Everyone speaks of the elusive "bahro" or "the least" which Yeesha had us free when we performed our quest to gain and return the pillars. But nobody speaks of the Trohl's who roam the city and byways of D'ni.

So far I have only come across ONE of these elusive creatures.
He was disguised as a commoner, one of those flowing back to D'ni to see the ancient city and learn of its knowledge... but this was only a pretense. His main agenda was to make any female avatar player's life a living hell.

I was new in D'ni, minding my own business and looking for someone to help me while I was wandering the city.
This young man offered to help me with an age if I just invited him. He seemed ok but that was only a disguise.
I had found around the same time that Blue Max and someone else I know (possibly Tweek) were online and they had come to meet me in the City. I was torn between staying with friends and having this person help me. This new person seemed rather anxious I leave with them and that should have been my "warning" signal that he was a "trohlee."

I finally said bye to Tweek and Max and linked with this "trohlee" to their Relto.
That's when he bared his fangs and began to be the biggest jerk in the world!
He was the baddest of all trohlees and started to bump my avatar saying "I'm trying to hug you."
Which made me want to roll my eyes and kick him somewhere but as there is no /kick or /slap much less no /bouncer options in URU, I finally just began to ignore the trohlee who started to make my life miserable.

He apologized of course... but it was guile... all guile.
I must be too nice a person if I fell for his act... Or perhaps I'm just too bored to care. *shrugs*
I was foolish enough to give him one of my AIM aliases and he began to whine to me in his trohlee dialect about how he was a victim and it was just a game... he was having fun... why shouldn't he be able to... bl'ah bl'ah bl'ah... till I just thought "why am I bothering to even listen to this deceitful creature when I have better things to do?"

So one evening, I just told him "I'm sorry but you're a pain in the butt and I can't deal with this anymore... bye" and I thrust him into the prison book section of AIM known as the "ignore list."

And so my ordeal was over and the trohlee, far as I know has never returned to the land of D'ni.
Atleast I have seen no sign of this rare specimen (hope it stays that way) wandering in among the masses from the age of Trohldohm.

So ends my tale of frustration which happened waaaaay back when I was just a tenderfoot linker.
And my journeys continue on... and I will tell of many such tales but without the trohlees interfering.
